To avoid sliding towards the head or foot end, you must make sure that the hammock has been tied at the same level and height at both ends. In case you are still sliding at any side, adjust the hammock to balance it.
Before settling on the hammock, the best way to have more comfort is to use different accessories. If there is likely to be lots of bugs and mosquitoes, it is best to use a bug net with the hammock. Those who are habituated to using pillow can get one. A sleeping pad is a very good idea, as it will fit into the hammock and provided comfort like a bed. For colder climates, you can use blankets or even sleeping bag if necessary. These small items are a must if more time is going to be spent by you on the hammock.
Many hammock users find it difficult while getting into the hammock. Especially if you are new to it, you might find yourself struggling to get in. For getting into it, simply sit on the hammock with your back just like you usually sit on a chair. Before sitting you should remember to reach behind and spread the hammock with your hands; it helps to distribute the weight equally on the hammock and allows utilizing maximum space. It is recommended to never set your feet first when getting into the hammock as it can cause you to fall and get injured.
Find an angle
Lots of beginners try to sleep on a hammock in its curving line, taking the shape of a cocoon or banana, which can be very uncomfortable after an extent of time and the user may feel suffocated. The best way to lay on a hammock with gather-end is to do it diagonally. This allows you to distribute your weight equally, which lessens tension and supports the back providing you full comfort. In larger and wider hammock, it is best to lie down across the center of the hammock. Larger hammocks offer more positions and you can go for the one you like the most.
Different types of people use the hammock. Their body differs from each other and so is their body weight. After adjusting in the hammock you would want your body to be at a level. The leveling of the hammock mostly depends on the body weight distribution of the user. Usually different body parts have different weight and the hammock needs to be finally adjusted according to that. For example if your shoulder has more weight, then the head end should be raised enough to equalize and if your hip part has more weight, then the foot end should be adjusted to compensate.
Getting out of the hammock can also be one big challenge for the beginners. Many might get hesitant and fall while getting off the hammock. But if you know the simple trick, it won’t be a big deal anymore. For getting out, first of all you should do is to swing both your legs upward and over one side of the hammock and sit up. After that you should plant your feet on the ground and grab hold the outer edges of the hammock at each side of your body and push up and off at one go without hesitation. This way in seconds you will find yourself safely landed out of the hammock.
